The clearest, thinnest, piss awful beer in the whole of Germany.
All they serve and you'll piss people off if you ask for anything different.
Strong in ABV though.

There's a central strasse, Admiral, which has loads of bars and restaurants on it. There's a lot on the side of the river on the Cathedral side, and they are all much of a muchness. Burgers, schnitzel and beers.
There's a dreadful Irish bar called the Corkonian which does show football, but there is another one a short walk away which is much better. Jameson's' I think it is called.
Not sure what it is called, but there is a small Alsace restaurant on one of the side roads. Well worth googling. It literally have room for ten tables, but the food and wine is something else.

Yeah, Kolsch. It comes in tiny glasses and they will keep refilling it until you place a bar mat over the top of the glass.

Admiral, yes the irish pub is called Jamesons on Friesenstrasse (nearest tram stop Friesenplatz), good mix of ex-pats and locals.
On the same street (turn right as you come out of Jamesons) is a row of good bars. Very lively at the weekend but not sure mid-week. I don´t get out much midweek these days. At the end is an All Bar One then you are on a busy road called the Ring. Lots of restaurants and bars along this road.
A more student quarter is Zulpischerplatz (couple of stops on the tram).
Along the river(on the side of the cathedral) is really nice if the sun is shining but in the evenings the clubs are full of tourists and people from the suburbs.
Across the river from the cathedral there used to be a couple of beach bars but not sure if they have opened for the summer yet.
Finally, Pascha. Biggest whorehouse in Europe I believe. 7 floors, avoid the top floor. You´ll need a taxi (10eur from the centre) 5eur just to go in and have a look, obviously more if you want to get hold of someone. Across the road is another similar joint. No entrance fee but looks like a toilet.

Stay clear of the Irish pubs, they're fucking useless and just full of pissed up losers. I know, I've been one. Plenty of good German bars throughout the city.
